Privacy Policy & SMS Terms

Vigil for Schools (“Vigil”), a service of Iowa Love LLC, provides automated attendance-line services to K-12 schools. This page describes how we handle information and the terms of our SMS messaging.

Information we handle

Vigil processes information on behalf of the schools we serve: student names, grade levels, guardian names and contact information provided by schools from their enrollment records, and the contents of calls placed to school attendance lines (including recordings and transcripts) for the purpose of recording student absences. This information is used solely to provide attendance services to the school and is shared only with the school the caller dialed.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising.

SMS / text messaging

Some Vigil features send text messages — for example, absence confirmations to a parent or guardian who reported an absence, or operational alerts to school staff.

Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be shared with or sold to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Parents and guardians provide their phone numbers to their school during enrollment; messages are sent in response to calls they place to the attendance line or as attendance notifications under the school’s family-communication practices. School staff receive operational messages under their school’s service agreement with Vigil.

Data retention & questions

Call records are retained per each school’s service agreement. Schools may request correction or deletion of their data at any time. Questions about this policy: contact us at the email below.
